Something very chic happens when you combine pink and black.  I think it is such a timeless colour combination.

April 20, 2012Guestbook Ideas

Trying to find an alternative to the common guestbook? Here are some ideas that are  cute, creative and a perfect way to let your guests write you some words of congratulations.

I really love this idea. You fill a blank guest book with little envelopes (preferably in your wedding colours) and then have a stack of note cards beside the book. Your guests can write you a message on the notecards and then choose an envelope to put their message in. I think it would be really fun to go through the guestbook after the wedding and read all of the notes in the envelopes!

This next idea is really cute. You lay out a variety of postcards and have your guests write you a message on the back. This would be even more personal if you had postcards from all of the places that you had been together or (dream to go). After the wedding, you can through all of the post cards and put them into a book.

I attended a wedding a few years ago that had this next idea as there guestbook and it was SO fun! This idea goes especially well if you are thinking of having a photo booth at your wedding. Have guests go into the photo booth and get their pictures taken. After the pictures are printed off, they glue them into an album and write a few words to the bride and groom. By doing this, you not only have peoples names and their kind words but you also get to see pictures of them whenever you look through your book!

The last idea that I am going to share, is especially lovely because it is also a piece of art that you can hang in your home after the wedding. You need hearts (or any other shape) cut out and folded in half. At the wedding, you can lay all of the hearts out and have each guest write something on a heart. After the wedding, arrange the hearts in a square around a heart with your initials. So adorable!

I was inspired by the sunshine today and created this yellow and navy blue design board.

It is bright and cheerful, perfect for a spring wedding!

I’m a sucker for a great accessory, I admit it.  Our own lovely Lauren had clutches made for her wedding from this amazing Etsy artist, and I’m considering ordering myself one just because. Because they are FABULOUS!

Well done Davie & Chiyo!

I thought I would challenge myself with colours and design an inspiration board with tangerine – the official “colour of the year” – and purple. However, once I got searching I realized that these colours are stunning together and it was no challenge at all. I just love how bold and vibrant these colours are!

LOVE this.

Here is my (not so) secret pet-peeve: STUNNING dresses hanging on… crappy, ugly, hideous hangers. Here are LAVISH we are pretty good at making sure our lovely Brides have a beautiful hanger for their dress (especially for photos!) but I LOVE this idea of giving your Bridesmaids these personalized hangers for their dresses as well!

Essentially, couples can create their own app for their wedding – and with it comes a coordinating website.

So. Freaking. Sweet.

This has all of the standard features that you want from a wedding website – messaging, event details, maps, photos… and so much more.

In the age of social media, this is THE wave of the future for wedding websites.

And – to top it all off – the design templates that are available are beautiful.

Do yourself a favor – go check it out!  APPY COUPLE

{BIG thanks to my lovely friend Jenelle from PinkPolka Wedding Design for the fabulous find!}
